Throughout the years, Gordy is a DJ has had the immense pleasure of working with couples from all over the world. No two weddings are the same, every couple’s wedding day is special and tailored to suit their requirements.
An extremely popular question Gordy is a DJ is asked by our wedding couples is: “Can you supply music for different nationalities as our guests are travelling from all over the world?”.
The simple answer to this question is yes! While we do not claim to be experts in every single culture, we pride ourselves on being able to cater for a vast range of musical tastes. We will work with you beforehand so as to gauge exactly what you envisage and what music you wish to be included.
Below is a brief list and description of just some of the fabulous multicultural weddings we have performed at;
French
The wonderful Lauran & Kevin Durand enjoyed learning Scottish ceilidh with all nationalities taking part.
Swedish
Patrik and Nina Hallsjo incorporated some Swedish traditions throughout their fabulous reception including specific dances.
Bulgarian
Katya and Neil Cant left us this brilliant review;
“Our wedding was Bulgarian/Scottish which meant that the music for the evening reception included some unknown tunes. The way Gordy and Emma mixed the songs they had never heard before with everything else was absolutely flawless! Everyone had a great time and it was as if Gordy and Emma knew the Bulgarian songs!”.
Argentinian/Slovakian
As dance teachers themselves, watching Alenka and Ariel Sanchez perform specific dances from their home countries left us in awe. By the end of the wedding reception everyone felt like experts!.
American/Lebanese
Miranda and Marc were delighted with our input to their multicultural wedding.
“Nothing we asked was a problem and as we had such an international wedding (my husband is from Texas but is Lebanese) they even sourced specific Arabic songs that the groom’s Mum had requested.
Gordy is a DJ helps you plan your multicultural wedding reception to suit your specific tastes by discussing every aspect with you in advance. Downloading from a phone or logging onto the venue’s wi-fi on the night itself are not ideas that we would encourage.
Special song choices ideally require to be provided prior to the evening because we wish to remove room for error. We are happy to be guided by you as to when you feel we should include these.
If a certain song is particuarly important to a guest or member of your wedding party, Gordy is a DJ will dedicate the track to them and encourage everyone to participate in learning the (often new) dance!
Seeing different cultures come together at a wedding is not only joyous for us to watch but we love witnessing the fun, laughter and positive atmosphere it brings. This in our opinion helps make your wedding unique and memorable.
With adequate planning, there is no reason why we cannot incorporate different cultures for your special day so that we help make it a wedding reception that no one will ever forget……….
