One of our favourite wedding venues in Glasgow has to be the magnificent House For An Art Lover.
Designed by one of Glasgow’s most famous sons Charles Rennie Mackintosh and situated in Bellahouston Park, House For An Art Lover combines art gallery, exhibition space and a popular cafe which is easily converted to a venue for a wedding reception.
A separate upstairs area is used for the wedding breakfast, meaning access to the venue from an entertainer’s point of view is very easy with no stairs to contend with! Parking is a few yards away down a “ramp” to the front door. The use of haze/smoke is prohibited but there is no sound limiter present which is great news for DJs and live acts.
It is easy to see why the venue was VOWS (Voted Outstanding Wedding Supplier) award-winning in 2015! The Scottish VOWS Awards recognises companies within the Scottish wedding industry which deliver customer service of the highest standard.
Staff including Scott and Robert are excellent and extremely helpful which makes a huge difference, making this a pleasurable place to visit for everyone!
At night, the Art Lover bar can be enhanced by the addition of mood lighting to add the “wow” factor! Any colour can be chosen and even the wine glasses were included in the use of this fantastic lighting! Wedding couples are amazed by how effective the mood lighting is at changing the overall atmosphere of the room.
Easily accessible for wedding guests, a short walk from Paisley Road West and part of the surrounding parkland, areas for photographs are numerous which provides a perfect background for the future memories of a wedding couple.
With a capacity of 110 guests this is a truly unique venue which will live long in the memories of wedding guests and of course the wedding couple!
