One aspect of a wedding that often gets overlooked is the wedding ceremony music. At our client meetings, couples are delighted to learn that Gordy is a DJ can provide the ceremony music, removing all responsibility from the venue or wedding party member.
Unfortunately we have heard many horror stories where the iPod docking station failed, the usher pressed play on the wrong song or even worse, the CD skipped!! We take pride in supplying the ceremony music to ensure none of these errors occur.
Even better, Gordy is a DJ can edit the tracks using music software to ensure the timing is perfect for the entrance of the guests, bridal party and bride! Leaving this to an expert in our opinion is definitely best.
The next question we hear is – what music do I choose? Traditional ceremony music such as Wagner’s Bridal March (Here comes the bride) is still used occasionally but we are often asked for more contemporary choices.
There is no right or wrong but wedding couples are advised by us to select songs that mean something to them or have a romantic feel.
Gordy is a DJ advises to have some background music for the guests arriving, rather than silence. This is followed by a song for the entrance of the bridal party. Next a song is chosen for the bride’s big entrance!
When signing the register takes place, at least two songs are necessary to allow photographs to get taken without anyone feeling rushed.
The exit of the wedding couple is a huge celebration and a fitting song choice needs to illustrate this.
