Norton House Hotel & Spa wedding venue review is this week’s featured blog. Being the first time Gordy is a DJ had visited, we were excited to experience another venue. Located in Ingliston, only 20 minutes from Edinburgh city centre this venue from first impressions has the wow factor!
What makes this hotel so special? There are many reasons why wedding couples will definitely choose Norton House Hotel & Spa for their special day. Built in 1840 as a traditional country retreat, this beautiful hotel has many reception rooms and licensed areas for civil ceremonies. Their grand rooms and spacious grounds seem to be made for weddings with plentiful areas for photograph opportunities!!
Wedding ceremonies can even be held outside on the lawns and the meal/reception can either be held in the Garden Suite or Ballroom. In terms of numbers, up to 200 wedding guests can attend the evening reception with 140 being seated for the wedding breakfast.
Prior to our visit at Sean and Nicola’s wedding in May, we contacted the wedding and events team and spoke with Gavin. He advised us about timings, access to function suite etc – thank you Gavin for making our job so much easier and keeping us fully informed on the day itself as well!!
Gordy is a DJ set up our equipment in the gorgeous Garden Suite and the couple opted for blue mood lighting. The transformation can be shown in the photographs below! We were delighted that the couple loved the lighting but it was complimented by the staff who had never seen such an effect before. Special mention to Shareen, another member of the wedding team who was polite and helpful – we look forward to meeting you again next time we return!
It was an absolute joy to be part of the Duffy wedding. A beautiful and unique song was chosen for the first dance – “Love You Till The End” by the Pogues, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!
Gordy is a DJ regularly advises couples during our pre-wedding meeting to get their guests involved in music choices. Our happy couple believed this to be a great idea and the requests both before and on the evening were brilliant and wide-ranging!! Particular standouts were Wagon Wheel by Darius Rucker and 5,6,7,8 by Steps!!
A ceilidh section was included and Gordy is a DJ as usual had great fun demonstrating and calling the dances. The Gay Gordons was a particular highlight with all age groups getting involved!
With plenty of on-site accommodation available, wedding guests don’t have far to walk once the wedding day comes to an end. There is even an onsite swimming pool, sauna, steam room and hydrotherapy spa for guests to enjoy as part of the overall experience!
Gordy is a DJ can’t wait to re-visit this establishment. Meanwhile for more information about how Gordy is a DJ can help you with your wedding celebrations, please contact us here.
