Your wedding reception grand finale. Whether an event is a wedding, birthday party, engagement or anything else, one of the most memorable moments is the ending!
We always advise to try to finish on a high, leave the crowd wanting more, perhaps bring a tear to a few eyes (in a good way), this we feel is crucial for the future memories of a happy couple.
However, in Scotland, there is one finale that some feel is fast becoming a cliché: The playing of Runrig’s Loch Lomond.
Yes, Emma and I had it at our wedding. I popped the question on the banks of Loch Lomond so it was particularly fitting in our case for this reason alone.
Nowadays though, many wedding couples are intent on breaking with the “norm”.
Below is a list of our most requested songs for the ending of a wedding reception that are not Loch Lomond. There may be one or two surprises, some upbeat, some slow but hopefully will provide some food for thought.
